1999 Oldsmobile Alero fuel filter

Relieve the fuel system pressure.
Remove or disconnect the following:


Fuel line from the filter, using a backup wrench

Quick-connect fitting from the fuel filter by compressing the tabs while pulling outward on the line

Fuel filter from the mounting bracket






Install or connect the following:


Fuel filter to the mounting bracket

Fuel line using a backup wrench.
Torque the fitting to 20 ft. lbs. (27 Nm).

Quick-connect fitting to the fuel filter

Negative battery cable


Pressurize the fuel system and verify no leaks.
