i replaced the right front tie rods now i have severe tire wear on the outside edge of the tire and cant afford an allignment at this time. which way should i adjust the tire to minimize the tire wear?

I believe you will need to adjust the tie rod some that it pulls the wheel in (the back side of front wheel). To check this make sure the driver tire is straight , look from front of vehicle at tire to comfirm that it is straight then take a look at the passenger tire the back side of the tire will be sticking out further than the front side. Then just adjust in till looks similar to driver side.

FYI - Next time replace tie rod, before taking old on off mark the tie rod end and the sleeve, usually with the ball up, so can use the ball as referrance on new end. Then Count the number of turns it take to remove. And count same when putting new one on.
