when i have the rear end on jacks the axle shafts move in and out on both rear wheels. when i drive i can hear extreme whining.the shafts dont move up or down or around, just in and out

the clips that hold the axle shafts in may bewearing. It really depends on how far they move. they willwear before the axle will. if they move more than .005" then i'd check them of havethem checked.
