Oil spitting out of oil cap

I checked the oil and it has just slightly above the max point, maybe a half a centimeter above the full line on the dipstick. When the car is running it spits drops of oil out through the oil cap. Not a lot of oil just drops spitting out but want to make sure the car isn’t going to go kaboom or break down? Would it help to get an oil change? Etc?

Hello,

Yes, an oil change will never hurt a car. It can only help. If the oil in your vehicle isn't that old though, you can simply drain a half quart or so of it out and get the level where it is supposed to be. Either way I would recommend that you bring the oil level down to where it is supposed to be because if you run too much oil you risk possibly damaging bearing, oil pump, and at the most risk of failure would be your gaskets, mainly your oil pan,front and rear main,head, and valve cover gaskets.
