Mechanic ran a diagnostics and found:
- Oil pump solenoid internal failure, permanent fault.
- Valve cover gasket replacement - oil present in spark plugs tubes cylinder one coil oil damage.

My question is, which is more critical to get it fixed ASAP?

Hello,

I would definitely get the issue with the oil pump fixed first. Without your engine's oil pump working, you don't have to worry about the second issue.

Thanks,

Thanks Alex! So it would make sense to get the oil pump fixed first and can wait a few weeks to replace the valve cover?

Hello again,

Absolutely, but the valve cover is probably leaking from the valve cover gasket, which you can replace really inexpesively. As a matter of fact you can do it with a $5.00 tube of RTV. The gasket itself shouldn't be more than $15.00 - $20.00 at your local auto parts store, and is about the easiest gasket to replace on your vehicle. We can give you instructions on how to do this if you wish. Please let us know.

Thanks,
Alex
