Oil pump replacement

HOW DO YOU CHANGE AN OIL PUMP ON THE CAR

I bought this car 2 months ago and had no real problems until lest week. i drove it about 10 miles when it started knocking and died in about 30 seconds. I tried once to restart and it wouldn't start so I had it towed. What can cause this to happen it has Oil and the oil was changed 2 weeks ago there was a small leak noticed at the oil sending unit can that cause this?

a small leak at the sender will not cause ethos un less the oil has all leaked out!, i would be checking the oil pump and pressure relief valve, but if it has been run with out oil pressure to the point that it has started knocking and stopped i fear that it is all to late as serious damage has already occurred.'

Thank you for such a prompt reply. What could have caused this to happen? Could something have happened when they did the oil change?

If they neglected to do up the drain plug tightly and it fell out and you lost all of your oil, this would account for it, otherwise i would be thinking of an oil pump or pressure relief valve failure.

i need to know if this could be my oil pump. theres oil that was blown all over the engine,the dip stick has way to much oil on it and its not from over filling it.do you think that could be from my oil pump?

check your pcv valve and your air breather/air filter inside the airfilter box.

you should also consider doing a oil change with a sludge remover before you refill it.

i want to no if my oil pump is about to go. my car started ticking in the engine like there is no oil in it but i just had a oil change and there is oil in car

yep most likely if oil is in it but its acting as if its low on oil its the pump. need to check oil pressure with a mechanical oil pressure gauge to see though.

i have an oil pump for a 1998 ford escort 2.0 liter sohc will the oil pump fit on a 1993 1.9 liter sohc engine
