The wire that connects to sending unit split how will this affect my car even though the unit itself is good.

Yep, you will need a replacement pigtail, here is what I am talking about. Here it is for $9.00:

It should get affect the engine performance unless the PCM shuts the engine down for lack of oil pressure, which is possible. The location of the sensor is near the oil filter. Let us know if you need anything else.
