How to install a mechanical oil pressure gauge?

i had very low oil pressure when running my A/C. i come to a red light and my check gauges light always came on in drive and i put in neutral and light goes off. i had a new heavy duty oil pump put in, okay so far. i need to find out how to install a mechanical oil pressure gauge to double check my oil pressure.

Hi Tom, all that needs to be done is to remove the electric oil pressure switch on the engine now and there will be fittings that screw in for a mechanical gauge. You are basically removing one and screwing in a different type. It goes to the same location.

I attached a pic below to give you an idea of where the sensor is. However, I was thinking that this may not work. If I recall, the electric oil pressure switch will shut down the fuel pump if there is no pressure. Ugh!!! The only way to know is to try. If the engine won't run with it removed, the only other thing I can think of is if they may an adapter that would screw into the pressure spot and then you can attach two things to it.

i found out a better way to hook my mechanical oil gauge; there is port just right the oil filter. i bought a kit which contains copper tubing because of all the heat with the fittings. i thought i would let you know i got the copper tubing kit from Orielly's. Thanks for all your help.
