Oil leakage

It appears that the valve covers are failing and leaking oil onto the engine and exhaust.....How difficult of a job would it be to replace the gaskets myself....? I consider myself medium to upper on a skill level for car maintenance and repairs.Just looking at the project, it doesn't appear to be difficult but there are always the unknown details that will blow my plan up.....
