The oil gauge light comes on and off and the other gauge that shows high and low goes to low and stays there.

Hello,

This could be due to a faulty oil pressure sensor.
Are you experiencing any drivability issues?
The other possibility is having incorrect oil pressure.

To figure out if it is a bad sensor or actual oil pressure issue, you will have to test the oil pressure using a pressure gauge. Those gauges can be found at your local auto parts store. Most of them will let you borrow them to use.

I have attached diagrams for the testing procedure below for your reference.

Please let me know if you have any questions.
Thank you.

I changed the oil pressure sensor yesterday and it didn't help. I had AutoZone run an odm thing on it and three codes came up P1564, C1142, and U1000, but they don't seem to have anything to do with the oil pressure. So, tomorrow I'm going to get the gauge tester thing you mentioned and test the pressure. I'll let you know what I find. Do you know what I need to do to remedy the three codes?

Yes, these 3 codes are not related to the oil pressure sensor.
The code P1564 is for the ASCD (automatic speed control device) steering switch. The C1142 is a ABS fault code, which could be the reason why the ASCD error exists. And the U1000 is for the canbus communication self diagnostic code.
Is the cruise control functional?
