Hello, if you had the oil changed at a shop it sounds like, they may not have put the correct type of oil in it, and the smoke you're seeing may be from them spilling oil when either filling it or possibly when they changed the oil filter. Some of the quick oil change places don't really look at what type of oil should be in the vehicle. If it calls for 5w20 as an example and they put 10w30 in it, a thinner oil will cause ticking and engine noises because the oil pressure may not be correct or its not coating the upper end components like it's supposed to, the manual in your glovebox will tell you what oil it should have in it.
Oils have changed a lot, there's fully synthetic oil now, and this being an older vehicle, the engine has some wear to it, so whatever the engine is supposed to take along with not being a cheap brand is important. If it went in not ticking and came out ticking, that's not good and it's their responsibility to take care of the issue. Hopefully they tightened up the oil drain plug as well as the filter and they are not leaking.
