Observed black deposit rather than brownish deposit at the tail pipe.

There use to be a brownish colored carbon deposits observed at the mouth of the exhaust pipe and now it has turned black/dark. The engine runs smoothly without misfirring. I'll like to know the solution to the problem.

Black indicates the engine is running too rich or the vehicle is only used for short trips.
