My car won't start. I'm getting OBDII code: P1237 - "Faulty Fuel Pump Driver Module (FPDM)." What is this? When I first saw it, I simply took it to mean a faulty fuel pump, which involves dropping the fuel tank and replacing the pump, which I don't know if I could do based on the physical location of the car. Now I'm wondering what exactly the FPDM is, where it is, and how difficult is it to fix or replace? Can someone give me some insight into this?

The FPDM regulates the voltage to the fuel pump. If it's malfunctioning, the fuel pump may not receive adequate power.

P1237: Fuel Pump Secondary Circuit Fault

Here is the location of the FPDM which is in the trunk on the right side so you can swap it out which is a common failure, make sure to clear the codes after the job is complete. Check out the images (below). Please let us know what happens.

Is there a brand/part number could you recommend? Is there any way of getting a clear photograph showing this part installed?

I went into the trunk of the car and there it was (see attached pictures). Apparently, Ford doesn't make this part anymore and I haven't been able to bring anything up on the internet. Also, I don't know of quality aftermarket sources who would have a high-quality substitute, so any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

Yep, that is the part and getting it might be a challenge, I would try eBay for a used unit. If you can get an aftermarket unit try that as well, I don't have any recommendations for after market units.

I've been trying for 2 days and haven't found the part I need. eBay had some shakey offerings from some less than stellar sellers. Also, I checked with a Ford / Lincoln distributor who said the number on the part in my car is an "engineering number" not the part number). He got the part number via the part description (Fuel Pump Driver Module (FPDM)) in combination with the last eight digits of the VIN. He said I need part #YF3Z-9D372-AA. I've seen part # YF3F-9D372-AA associated with this part for sale, but not the first number. (From what I could find, I think the only difference is the year of the car, and the number the dealer gave me is correct, but maybe they would both work). I seem to be up against a wall on this so I would really appreciate any thoughts on a solution including companies believed to be a good choice to contact to see if they have the needed part. I think I will check back with the dealer to see if both parts would work.

Yep, the dealer is the best choice, but if it is not available you will need to make your best guess, I don't know of anyone that has these parts.
