I replaced the knock sensors with ACDELCO parts. The check engine light came back on a few days later with the same code.

Hi,

The code is specific to bank 2. See pic 1 below. Did you replace the one on the passenger side of the engine compartment or were both replaced?

Next, when you tighten the new sensor, it is important that it is to specification. It should be tightened to 18 ft/lbs. Is that what was done?

Let me know.

Hi,

If by any chance they came loose, it will cause issues. Do me a favor. Take a look through the description and the diagnostics below. Let me know if you feel comfortable performing them. Also, if you need any other info on how to do it, let me know.

Let me know.

Hi,

I'm not sure what you mean by Hz. Hz stands for hertz. It is a unit of frequency used to measure sound waves.

The torque specs for the sensors is 18 ft/lbs. Let me know.

Take care and feel free to let me know if I can help.

Take care,

Joe

Sorry for the delay, but I performed a circuit test by connecting the multimeter leads on the knock sensor and set the meter to HZ and the reading fluctuated while I was tapping on the side of the engine.

Hi and welcome back,

It sounds like it is working. Were you able to perform the diagnostics above? If the sensor is working, there is likely an issue with the wiring.

Let me know.

Hi,

Pic 8 above explains how to test the sensor. Confirm it is good. Also, I attached two pics below. One is the sensor connector identifying the two pins. The second is the identifies the pin.

Let me know if this helps.
