My insurance company sent me a device to plug into my Obd2 port and said it would light up after I plugged it in. Im assuming my port does not have power. I have my manual but it does not tell me which fuse to check. do you know which fuse may effect power to my Obd2 port? Thank you

Hi,

I believe the power is supplied by the power control module.

Here is what I need you to do:

Pin 16 at the data link connector should have battery voltage at all times. I attached a pic below showing the connector and highlighted the pin we need to check. Using a test lamp, see if there is power at that connector pin.

Let me know what you find.

Joe

Thank you for the tip. I ended up taking my car into Part Source in Oshawa last night and they were nice enough to confirm my Data link connector is dead. They checked with their scanner. So, it's either a fuse which I have no idea which fuse to check, and I have tried googling and looking on YouTube and reading the manual. I visually checked all my 10 red fuses that seemed to be indicated on related videos on YouTube. If it's not a fuse, then it must be a connection (wires). I was hoping you would know which fuse affects my data link connector. :-(

Hi,

I think I found what you are looking for. It took an hour to trace it down. LOL

The DLC fuse that powers pin 16 is in the inter fuse box. It is fuse 36, a 7.5-amp fuse.

Check the fuse first. If it appears good, you need to confirm there is power to and from it.

Here is a link that you may find helpful:

Let me know what you find.

Take care,

Hello, thank you very much. Fuse 36 was blown. I made it to Canadian tire today and picked the mini-Blade 7.5-amp fuse. I put the fuse in and the Obd2 port has power again. I had the manual but didn't notice that page. I appreciate your help. I was prepared to take my car to an auto electronic technician. Thank you for saving me time and especially money. I am glad I saw your video on YouTube. :-)
