OBD 1 connector location?

Prodemand does not show one for a 1984. 1985 shows the connector being "below the coolant reservoir on the right side of the engine compartment." Hope this helps.

It will be under the hood near the washer tank. There are two connectors like the picture shows. It is Fords EEC-IV system. You can pull codes without anything other than a couple jumper wires if your car has a check engine light that works.
If you have a CEL you simply connect a jumper lead from the single wire connector to the right hand plug on the top row of two (green line). Turn on the key and count the light flashes to read the codes. If you do not have a working CEL you can use a test light or a voltmeter to read them. In that case you connect to the third connection from the right and attach the lights other terminal to battery positive. (Blue line) If you use a meter you will want an analog unit to make counting the sweep of the needle easier.

Or if you have a scan tool that has the correct software and connector you can get access to much more data than just the codes.
