Ok so I'm going crazy we recently bought a 2005 mercury mountaineer. The transmission was just replaced on it literally 7 months ago it sat for about 6 months without being driven before we bought it my hubby is an auto mechanic for a local shop around here and bought it off of his boss who had the transmission replaced. Here is our issue since we bought it about a week ago the overdrive light started coming on with the check transmission light as well it was taken back to the shop that did the transmission replacement and found that it had no problems. Now this morning I took it out and the overdrive light again came on and around 25 mph it would not shift just reved up and then did a hard shift it is slipping gears. We plan on again taking it to the place that did the transmission since it is still under warranty but don't want to be told that it isn't the transmission when it clearly is any ideas why it's doing this with a brand new transmission in it?
