Ticking noise when driving long distances

I have a California Concept Ford Mustang and it has a ticking noise when i drive long distances. I have noticed just a little bit of anti freeze here and there has been leaking out. The car was just worked on and everything in it was replaced w new hoses, thermostat, gaskets,etc. It has run fine for about four months up until now. It is not overheating but apparently somethings not right. Again! Should i park it until i can afford work to be done on it again or is it safe to drive short distances? And what would the ticking noise represent in this case? My car has been extremely well kept but only form of transportation right now. Am i messing it up more by driving it?

have a mechanic pressure check cooling system for leaks might be a loose clamp. he can better diagnose the ticking noise as well make sure it is full of oil.

I agree with HMAC300 about possible loose clamps especially if you just had hoses done. Recheck all clamps and if okay then have it pressure tested for leaks.

As far as is it safe to drive? You might be if you constantly keep an eye on your temperature gauge and check your coolant level especially if you commute local but would not recommend you do it for a long time or things could get worse.

For the ticking noise, would you say it sounds like a lifter noise? You may have an exhaust leak? Noises are difficult to advise on here because we do not hear it. For that it would be better to take in to the shop to at least have them listen to it and see what they tell you?
