Needed tie rod outs and wheel bearing was bad, and then got an alignment. i still have noise coming from around the axle area, are these common to go bad on this vehicle? No clicking while turning, but when i put it in drive while jacked up i get this noise, also movement, does not look like it should be moving up and down does it?

Hello,

Axles are pretty common to go on these cars, either they get noisy or start throwing grease everywhere. In any case, thank you for the video - it sounds like the noise is louder on the outer portion of the axle. If the wheel bearing is new, that would presumably mean that the options would be the axle or the rotor hitting something while spinning. You can check the axle by grabbing the shaft and wiggling it around. If the play is excessive then the axle bearings are bad in the joint.

Hope this helps,
William

Changed acle and bearing hub sane thing, most likely inside the transmission, weird that it started out of nowhere. The rotor will make a noise since it's a bit old and rusty but not like this and would stop once its driven and rust is gone. Dang

Hello, and thanks for your reply.

Videos can be tricky, as it did sound that the noise was louder on the outside, but if in fact the noise is louder closer to the transmission, then yes, the issue would certainly be the output shaft bearing. Typically, these bearings require the transmission to be torn down to replace. However, the noise can also occur when there is something like a burr in the receiving end or improperly seated axle splines. I would make sure the axle is seated completely and you can lubricate it prematurely with a little transmission fluid, or even better transmission assembly grease IMO.
