Noise after hub replacement

My hub snapped on my rear passenger side and wheel came off while I was driving. I had it replaced and it drove smoothly for awhile. It’s a secondary vehicle so it’s not driven often. Last week I intermittently heard a severe sounding rubbing sound. I replaced the wheel today and still hear it. It gets loudest when I brake but it’s not every time I brake.

Is this a rotational noise when you brake or something different?

Is this noise coming from the same wheel that fell off?

Can you get a recording of this noise so that we can get a better idea?

Hearing the issue will give us a better idea but based on what happened I am thinking this would be a hub issue or a possible brake issue. However, let's again, start with hearing it and go from there. Thanks

I will get a video of the sound later today.
It is rotational but I’m not entirely convinced it has to do with the brake. It doesn’t happen every time I brake but it’s loudest when happens when I brake.
It is the same tire that has the new hub.

Hi Christopher Ellison.

We can help with that, it sounds like your rear dust plate has a issue, will need to inspect for possible touching when braking, see link below .
inspect that inner brake pad is in the piston grove.
Please run down these guides and report back.

Sorry for not posting the noise. We got snow here in Indiana and I didn’t want to drive it in those conditions in case something happened.

If it is not there all the time then it could be a bearing noise as well as the backing plate like Nick mentioned. The fact that the noise is the loudest when you are braking could be loading that bearing and make it noisy.

Is the noise that you said its rubbing noise, could you also call it a growling?
