Car is making a noise under the hood when I accelerate

The power steering is the black cap toward the right front fender. Check the fluid level and see if it is low.

If it is, add as needed and start the engine and turn the wheel left and right to its maximum. Do that 3 or 4 times. That should bleed the system.

If that takes care of it, there is most likely a leak in the system. It will need to be checked for the leak as it can come from many places.

Okay, I checked the power steering fluid and it's in the hash mark area.

Okay, the next step would be to remove the drive belt from the engine and start the car and see if the noise is still present.

I'm not really quite sure how to get the belt off of there.

You will need a long handle 3/8 rachet to attach to the tensioner and pry on it and release the belt.

You may want to have someone help you with this if you have never done this before.

Is this a pulley that needs replaced and how do you know which one?

I would remove the belt and spin each pulley to see what one makes noise.

Also, I would start it without the belt as well to verify the noise is gone. That will tell you it is external.
