Loud engine noise

There is a loud constant constant noise coming from underneath the starter next to the left driver side will Basin the problem occurs when the car is in neutral are being switch from 1st to 4th gear after 4th gear the problem the noise stops

Is sounds like the starter bendix return spring has broken but to be sure can you please shoot a quick video with your phone so we can hear the noise, that would be great. You can upload it here with your response. I would remove the starter to confirm the gear is not being returned into the starter here is a guide to help you walk through the steps of removing it with diagrams below to show you in your car.
