i pulled up at traffic lights, put it in gear and it suddenly lost drive. its goes into gear but doesn't move.

This vehicle isn't offered in the US, but I will try my best to help.
If you place the vehicle in second gear, does it move? Does reverse work? Were there any clicking or knocking sounds prior to this happening? Have you checked the shift linkage to see if something has failed?
