No spark in any cylinder might have hooked battery up backwards :(

Left my headlight on in my sidekick sport, after work tried to start it and realized I had left them on. I had two batteries with me and tried to install them to start the car.. It was cold that day but I'm pretty sure I didn't hook the battery up backward but I'm not certain.. Tried to jump start it and all it did is crank. My mechanic thinks it is the ignition control igniter .. 349.00 but he's not sure if it's that. Talked t a commercial guy at autozone and he said it sounds like the crankshaft positioning sensor. I don't know wha to tell the mechanic but I don't feel like taking. 350$ gamble on a part I can't return. It doesn't have spark in any cylinder and my mechanic said he couldn't find a crankshaft sensor on the motor.. Probably should switch shops.. Please can anybody with suzuki knowledge please help me?!?!?

And it gets power to the coil but no ground..

my knowledge is this, if you take the vehicle to a shop that cant read or diagnose whether or not the vehicle has crank signal then, yes, you should switch shops. you need to determine this first. if you know theres no spark then the ECM controls that. if not by a crank sensor then by another input. its really hard to diagnose from here but its a vehicle that's new enough (OBD2) that youre going to need someone who can read hall effect sensor outputs and has a common diagnostic computer

Trying to just think of what it could be. ECM, ignition igniter, no fuses were blown. Crank sensor is internal... I don't know.

it could. but it very difficult to say without being able to test them. if you can have a shop read the datastream and they'll show up when youre trying to crank if theyre both reading.

they should also be able to tell from that if the ECM is faulty
