No spark from engine?

my mechanic said the timing belt is fine

assuming it is a v6 as you stated no motor. i would start with checking for power to the coils with key on engine off.

you may want to consider a new shop as it is a basic issue that anyone should be able to figure out with proper test equipment

I have a 1998 Toyota Camry v6 LE, and recently my car will not start. There is no spark from the engine from turning the key, and lately I have been noticing that the light of the time for my dashboard has been getting dim lately, especially when I turn on my ignition key.

My dad has tried to boost start with his car. But it still won't turn on. Lately, I have been noticing that it would take just a few secs more to start up. Takes a bit longer to accelerate? But it's a pretty old car.

Check the fuel pressure if its correct, injector/s pulsing and ignition spark-if all okay check engine compression

Have you scanned for fault codes as yet?

weve got no spark on our 2L camry, we replaced the coil with a 180i corrola's. we took out a plug wire and inserted a plug and hold it agaist the engine. we switch on the car hte feul pomp comes on and tested the distributor by turning it outside the car and got spark. but when we insert the distributor and put everything in place and start turning the key the fire are gone. As soon as we took out the distributor and test it outside we got spark again. bot dont work when its fitted.

Insert the distributor without the cap crank the engine and check if the rotor is turning. If it does not turn, you have a filed timing belt.

We have check the timing and timing belt everything are correct.

At the distributor, ensure you have battery voltage at the main supply wire with ignition switch turned on and also WHILE cranking. A faulty ignition switch would cut off the power supply.

Make shore the rotor is spinning . Verify the cam shaft is not broken .
