no sound from radio but CD is working

4.7l. no sound from radio unit, checked fuses they okay, removed radio unit, unplugged and plugged it back still nothing, but noticed that there is sound only if CD is chosen, weird, never seen such an issue.

If this is the system with the external amplifier then I would suspect this over the radio but if it works with a CD then that would say the amp is working. This would leave the radio is not sending the signal to the amp and speakers. Which means the radio is the most likely cause.

I would try and find a used radio and swap it out.
