No reverse

Was stuck in snow on a downward angle. . Had to back out.. After awhile wheels stopped spinning and reverse gear didn't engage. Checked fluid level was ok. Have no reverse. Is this something I can fix myself?

Take it for a drive, bet you find it winds out in first then jumps into third and that you have no overdrive as well. Common failure in that trans is the sunshell. GM had a bad run of parts and they strip the teeth or shatter the ring on the shell. The repair is to rebuild or replace the transmission.
