No radio reception only static

Hi, I have only static on my radio when trying to get AM or FM stations. The CD and tape player work fine. It was like this when I bought the car (from the original elderly owner, never a cab).
Attached is a picture of what I believe to be an antenna mounted on the inside of the front windshield.
Any advice appreciated, thank you.

Hello,

This sounds like your antenna has come unplugged from the back of the stereo. I have included in the diagrams below a troubleshooting flowchart for you. Please go through it and get back to us with what you find out.
