No power to the fuel pump

Hi,

If you have access to the fuel pump, check the white wire in the harness for power when the key is first turned on.

Or remove the fuel pump relay and look at the bottom. There will be 4 pins each numbered 85, 86, 87, 30.

With a jumper wire, jump the two pins where numbers 30 and 87 plug into the relay box. By doing this, it should turn the fuel pump on. Do this and let me know the results.

See pics below. Pic 2 shows the fuel pump relay in the under-hood fuse box.

I did what you suggested. Used jumper wire. Fuel pump is pumping. I have fuel pressure. Car still will not run. I did notice that an indicator light in the dash was flashing. It's orange, the shape of a car with a key in the middle. Could this be the anti-theft? The car was wrecked. It has been sitting for over a year, battery is not good, and I tried jump starting it. And I also found out that the key I have is not the original key. Key was cut, but not programmed. And the car has no key fob. So, my question is, is it the anti-theft? And do I need to get it towed to dealership to deal with anti-theft reset?

That sounds like the antitheft light. If the vehicle doesn't recognize the key being used, it will actuate the immobilizer and not start. In the event of a blocked Immobilizer system (unauthorized key), the ECM control unit locks the engine control by cutting off the ignition circuit and the injector circuit. If the key you have was never programmed, that is the problem.

I went through reprogramming the immobilizer, and it requires a scan tool that has programming software. I can't say that only a dealer will have one, but that is where I would start. Also, if there is a good locksmith, they usually have the ability to do this.

I tried to find an alternative technique, but there is none.

Joe, thank you for your guidance. You hit it right on the head.
I spoke to the owner of the car, and he confirmed that the key he had was cut but not programmed. We've gone as far as we can go on this. Again, thank you for your knowledge and wisdom.
