No power to anything

i just got done putting a engine and transmission in my Suv listed above SOHC . when i try to start it the battery arced significantly when attaching the positive cable.I disconnected the cables going to the power distribution box. i left the hot wire going to the starter and hooked a hot wire to the alternator I don't have any power whatsoever.I have tried to find information on the battery to power control box and exactly what goes where and all i get is stuff about mega fuse. any information you could give me about what should go where starting at the battery would be greatly appreciated.

Hopefully you did not fry any modules. Also, the negative cable is the first one off and the last one on.

Electrical problem
1994 Ford Explorer Four Wheel Drive Automatic

my explorer has no electrical power at all. I was driving it all day today and everything was fine, when I got home I turned it off, I go inside and come out and tried to start it and nothing works. No head lights, no start, no radio, and motor wont turn over. What could be the problem?

The first thing i would check is make sure the battery cable's are clean and tight.If that doesn't work then i would have the battery tested you could have a bad battery and possible a bad alternator.

My starter Solenoid went out, and i replaced it. But now, i have no power at all to the truck. My batteriy is good, and the new solenoid is good. Could you help me with this problem?

I had this same problem.
I did the following:

- Clean the battery terminals thoroughly. I had only a little bit of corrosion on the post and the whole car was dead. Sounds stupid, I know, but it worked.
- Changed the terminal connectors
- Just to be safe, I changed the starter too. Cheap and easy to do for the peace of mind.

Also, make sure the connections to the solenoid are in the right place. Might make a difference.

Runs find for a time then it will not start. Insert key, power engages, and then when I turn the ignition nothing happens. No sound, nothing. All power gone. Sometimes (days) later, either the car starts fine or or I have to replace the battery. I’ve checked the battery, until no start issue, runs at correct power levels, alternator seems fine. I can sometimes disconnect and reconnect battery and it will start fine. Issue will continue off and on until I have replace the battery. Starts fine until it happens again. Can figure it out.

This sounds like you have what is called an ignition off draw issue. Basically something is remaining on that should not draining the battery. The issues you are describing sound like effects of a drained battery.

Also, we need to test the alternator. Just because it seems fine doesn't mean it is charging properly.
