all of the readouts on my dash work except the odometer. Could this be a problem with the vehicle speed sensor?

More than likely this is an issue with the cluster itself. If the speedometer is working, then we can safely assume that the cluster is receiving the proper signal from the speed sensor.

Basically, the cluster has a circuit board that is part of the vehicle's communication network and if the odometer is the only thing that is not working then more than likely there is a fault on this circuit board.

So, what we need to do is check for codes and see if there are any related to the cluster or wiring issues.

Based on these codes we can take a different direction but if there are no codes, then I would replace the cluster.

This is not the first Jag that I have heard of that had this issue.

Please let me know what questions you have. Thanks

Thanks for the excellent reply to my question. I suspect that replacing the cluster would be fairly expensive for a 2000 Jag that is not worth that much to start with. I'll at least have the codes checked out. Thanks again.

You are welcome. You are correct that this is not the cheapest part to replace because there are no aftermarket options. The replacement cluster from Jaguar are discontinued so you are left with salvage yards, but this is never desirable for a part like this.

The best option, if you can find it, is to send your off and have it rebuilt and then they send it back.

I checked the major sites that do this, and they don't appear to do your vehicle. I am sure there are some options out there if may take a little more digging.

I attached the part numbers below for your reference.
