Have been driving the vehicle for just about a week now after a new ECM unit installed. No issues.

Today was driving down the road at about 60 kmh. Lost all accelerator pedal control, no gas pedal response at all. Vehicle was just idling and coasting.

Pulled over, pressed the gas pedal to the floor multiple times, no response at all. Wrench light came on dash, engine light on. No codes were given (SCT tuner on board so can check on the fly).

Shut off, restart. Everything working again.

Get maybe 300 feet down the road, same thing. No gas pedal response at all. Engine just idling and coasting. Kept happening after 300 - 500 feet of driving.

Had to shut off and restart maybe 7 times to limp it home.

Still no codes, kit wrench light and engine light on dash.

Any suggestions?

Some research is telling me the throttle body motor or TPS sensor?

I have no codes being issued though to help pinpoint this...

Good morning,

There is a fault code stored for this issue.

The common causes are the throttle body or the APP or the pedal sensor itself.

https://www.2carpros.com/articles/reduced-power-limp-mode

You need a real scan tool to access the codes. Once you get the codes, then post them here so I can help further.

If a code is being given the SCT tuner will pick it up.

I do not know about that at all. I only rely on a real scan tool, not those generic units.

Father has a real good obd2 scanner. Will get over there...

The SCT tuner is not generic... expensive tuning device.

No codes came up other then then the 4 o2 sensor codes and EVAP purge valve code that came up as we discussed prior.

Okay, are they still active?

They will have nothing to do with your issue.

I attached a wiring diagram for you to view of the throttle body control.

Check the connector to be sure it is clean, tight and no damage. It is a common issue for this problem.

With your scan tool can you read live data on the pedal sensor inside the truck?

All the previous codes I mentioned are still active. Nothing new.

The obd2 reader is still with my father, He will not lend it to me.

I have driven the vehicle today with no such throttle issues... but I am concerned for reliability and distance at this time.

Will check the connectors and clean the entire throttle body unit and re install.

A new throttle body motor is $230 and a TPS sensor is $146...

Would be nice to get an actual code so I am not just throwing parts at it...

Well we have a deeper more serious issue here with PCM...

I changed all the parts that were throwing codes, did a KAM and hard reset ( both battery terminals together 5 minutes ) and cleared all codes on computer.

Restart vehicle with all new O2 sensors and evap purge valve...

All codes came back and still having throttle body issues and no foot pedal response after cleaning the T.B.

Flagship1 is a horrible company to deal with and they are denying anything wrong with their supplied PCM unit. I have issues a PayPal dispute and will seek refund in full.
After reading all the bad reviews on BBB and google itself I am kicking myself...

Just spent $457.00 on new parts for nothing... On top of $820.00 for the PCM with Flagship1.

Roy do you have a trusted supplier for new PCM unit ? Seems we are back to the initial problem now ! So frustrating!

Thanks !

I have emailed them the PCM info and the link you put up.

Waiting for reply with total shipped to Canada.

Hopefully this will solve all the issues including the first one with the charging system !

I am at my wits end !

Hi Roy. So I ordered and received my new PCM from AllComputerResources.

I had to go to the ford dealer to have the new PCM installed which was costly.

Went to pick up the truck next day and did not even get off the lot before I received another code and loss of power and throttle response issues.

Took it back and a another day later they diagnosed a bad TPS sensor on the throttle body. Another $165.00 to replace that sensor and I was on my way.

Continued to drive the truck for about 1 1/2 weeks and now I am getting intermittent voltage spikes again.

On my display, when first starting the vehicle in the morning, volts read 14.6 or so with some fluctuations and steadily drops to about 13.6 after the truck warms up.

After the truck warms up 20 minutes or so I will start to see intermittent voltage spikes from regular 13.6 -13.8 and increasing / jumping up to 15.2 and as high as 15.9 almost 16 volts.

This seems to normally happen when I depress the accelerator pedal but sometimes even just while idling at a stop light.

Do you have any further suggestions, this is what normally happens right before the alternator will fail, but it has not failed as of yet and is still charging.

Pretty disappointed as I now have over $1,400.00 into this and still having charging issues after new alternator, new PCM and a various other parts installed.

Okay, the voltages, are you testing at the battery while it is running?

Also, when you check the charging system, did you check for AC voltage at the battery?

15.9 is too high as you know.

That would be voltage regulator in the alternator.

Okay,

So your saying that the new alternator has a failing voltage regulator already? It is not even 2 months old!

Why does this keep happening?

Could I have a bad ignition coil (COP) causing this? It was a suggestion from another tech I am speaking with....

No, to the coil. That has no control over charging system.

You had those other ECM's and that is part of the system check.

The regulator is inside the alternator. When you checked the voltage at the battery, did you also check for any AC voltage?

HY: Generator/Regulator System

HY: Introduction See: Computers and Control Systems > Pinpoint Tests > HY: Generator/Regulator System - Introduction

HY1 CHECK THE GENERATOR CIRCUITRY AND OPERATION

Note:If the concern is still present after checking the generator circuitry to continue generator diagnosis.

Check for any generator related DTCs. Refer to Charging System, Charging System to diagnose any generator related DTCs.
Is the charging system diagnosed and repaired in Charging System, Charging System?
Yes

The system is operating correctly at this time.

No

GO to HY2
.

HY2 CHECK THE GENERATOR MONITOR SIGNAL

Key ON, engine running.

Access the PCM and monitor the GENMON PID.
Is the duty cycle between 5% and 97% and not excessively fluctuating?
Yes

The system is operating correctly at this time.

No

GO to HY3
.

HY3 CHECK FOR CORRECT PCM OPERATION

Note:When the battery (or PCM) is disconnected and connected, some abnormal drive symptoms may occur while the vehicle relearns its adaptive strategy. The charging system set point may also vary. The vehicle may need to be driven to relearn its strategy.

Disconnect all the PCM connectors.

Visually inspect for:
pushed out pins
corrosion
Connect all the PCM connectors and make sure they seat correctly.

Carry out the PCM self-test and verify the concern is still present.
Is the concern still present?
Yes

INSTALL a new PCM. REFER to Section 2, Flash Electrically Erasable Programmable Read Only Memory (EEPROM) See: Computers and Control Systems > Diagnostic Trouble Code Tests and Associated Procedures > Flash Electrically Erasable Programmable Read Only Memory (EEPROM), Programming the VID Block for a Replacement PCM.

No

The system is operating correctly at this time. The concern may have been caused by a loose or corroded connector.
