No gas getting inside of carburetor

If you have fuel at the pump output and none in the carburetor, then it sounds like the needle and seat in the carburetor is the issue.

That will require disassembly and if you do that, I would rebuild it and clean it out entirely.

You may want to consider replacing it. Rock auto has a replacement you may want to consider.

I really appreciate it. Is this a result of the vehicle sitting without being used. Also, can a cleaning agent get me by until I can afford the said solution? Even if it runs a little rough for a while, I need it running as cheap as possible.

Even before that check the accelerator pump. Look down the carburetor air horn as you snap the throttle open one time. You should see a gas stream squirt down the front carburetor barrel(s). If not the accelerator pump is bad or the float bowl is empty of gas.
the rebuild kit should come with instructions, but here is an exploded diagram showing the accelerator pump plunger.

I have looked for the stream of gas to no avail. Where would I find my accelerator pump?

You need to rebuild the carburetor. the accelerator pump cup is the part you need to change, it goes onto the pump plunger. And make sure the discharge ball isn't stuck in the bore too.

I assumed since you said it would not run that the car will not start.

Is that the case or does it run?
