No crank/no start

Welcome to 2CarPros. Did you have the new fob programmed to the car? There is no other ignition switch than the button and it cannot be replaced with a switch. When you open the door or turn on the lights does the dash light up or the lights work? If not then power isn't getting into the interior. Check every fuse and relay to be sure they are installed and good as it's an auction car and some folks will "borrow" parts from them.
If you have power inside and the rest checks okay then it may be a receiver issue for the fob. The dash has the key verification module in it, if that was replaced or they tampered with it you will need an OEM scan tool to look at which modules are working and see if the security system sees the key at all.

Thank you for your reply. Yes i had new key fob programmed via locksmith. Everything inside the car turns on and works other then the sunroof/moonroof. I have went thru fuse box under hood and in car under steering wheel. The dash says no key fob detected when key is not present and detects it when it is present . i did hook a snap on scan computer up to it and i dont get any codes except for the powersteering module and the dash say power steering fault.. I assume this wouldnt make the car not start right? lol if i cross the starter at the starter or fuse box relay with power on from push button it starts n runs fine. Im just not sure why im not getting signal to starter or relay.. i figured ignition or nuetral saftey switch maybe but i replaced push button with one from u pull it and neutral saftey switch appears to be in working order. When i go to start it as you would normally , everything powers up and the speedometer goes all the way up n back down. Its being a pain for sure..

The power steering fault could create a no start as it would be considered a safety item. With all the electronics on cars it wouldn't surprise me. What is the code you're getting?

I am getting U3000 For the power steering module. i did try and clean the ground for it and tried it with module unplugged. It did the same thing just code diapered at time . i just hooked it back up , I kinda just figured it wouldn't have power steering.. But i did kinda wonder if it might have a safety feature like that. Do you think i should go forward replacing steering rack? as the module and rack are one unit.. and its not the cheapest fix . think the cheapest one i could find was $600.00 to $700$.00. I am kind of up in the air on what direction i should go next .

That isn't a nice code. Did you notice what the designation was? That would be a two digit code like :42 or :49 I attached the chart to let you look closer. The information sources we have don't say if they can cause a no start but they are all routed through the BCM and that controls the security and starting so it wouldn't surprise me at all. If you have the designation I'll post all the information related to it, for some there isn't a lot of testing, just says, replace module.

My scan computer doesnt say its just under power steering system and says module lol. I figured the power steering would need replaced , but was hoping to solve the start issue first , so that i dont invest too much . Maybe i can find one at a local u pull it yard . Id just hate to replace and still have the same problem . If it needed a neew module n reprogrammed id probly just use it for parts n buy another one lol. If i could get it to start right id probly go ahead and just fix the rest . idk.Is there a way i can check bcm or do you think i have to replace module regardless.What do you think?

Give me a bit to dig around. Ford hides things in different areas. Replacing the unit will mean you need to flash the new module, adjust the steering angle anyway. Can your scan tool access the security module? It might have a clue if the steering can lock it out.

It lets me access the pats anti theft system . It doesn't display any codes but when i hit start button it does go from inactive to active for 2-5 seconds. do you think that is normal or do you think that mean it is activating when it goes to engage starter? Let me know what you think or if you can figure anything out.

Well it seems Ford wants to make it interesting. The PSCM has power and CAN buss connections and you would need a scope and a known good waveform to do much. Know anyone local with the same steering system?

When it cycles to active it is looking for the correct key. After that the BCM should be sending the start signal to the starter.
