No coolant intake

I would say that the low coolant sensor is stuck, check this out first.

Thank you. How do I go about testing it for being stuck? Is it obvious once it is pulled out? Push on parts to check if they are sliding or not? I'm not a mechanic. I'm a mom between jobs and have to save all the money I don't have ; ) Thanks again,

You would have to remove the sensor and test it, it may be a level type or an electrical immersion type that relies on being in coolant to keep the light off, you will have to pull it It and inspect it.

Thanks. I am going to pull it. The fluid/coolant level is where it is supposed to be. I've noticed "algae" build up. Should I try to clean it out with a wire/baby bottle brush before adding new fluid or get a whole new coolant reservoir? I can pull it and clean it The coolant has been at a consistent level or a LONG TIME.

To be honest, i have never done one on your model, i will see if i can find out how it is removed, will proberbly be screwed in.

Thanks. I pulled the part and it does not enter the coolant reservoir. It is a white rectangular piece flush up against the side of the reservoir.

Thanks for your help. I think I got it! I took out the part that the sensor plugs into that is flush against the coolant reservoir. I cleaned it up. Then checked for amp. on the sensor itself. It had elec. going to it. Put it all back together. Prayed! The "Coolant Level Low" sign did not come on. The car's display says "Checking" when I first start it. The CLL light would always come on. It didn't, even after taking for a spin around the hood for a bit!! YAY!!!! Thanks again,
