No Center Dash Lights When lights Turned On

Good Morning. I am having a dash light issue. My vehicle has a factory towing package on it. The vehicle kept blowing rear tail lights. I found that this stopped happening once I took the four pin plug for a trailer off the vehicle. Once I did this, now when I turn on my parking lights and headlights, I loose all my lights for the radio, and A/C controls. I have found no blown fuses, I have even tried a new turn signal switch and still nothing. This has me like really stumped. I am at a loss on this. What can I check next? I would rather fix myself than take to a over priced dealer. Thanks for any help you may have for me.

you may have damaged the body module from the trailer connector so a mechanic will have to scan it or it is a CAN problem in idpm e/r module. there was a safety recall on a trailer harness supplied by Hopkins aftermarket trailer connection which would make dash lights go on, but it was written in 2007 so hard telling if yours has this or not. any garage can scan for codes for this but the dealer is only one that can reprogram body modules.

Okay thanks. I have a scanner. Will it go through the BCM and tell me if something is wrong with it. And if not is there a way i can do a self check?

there is no way that I know of to do a self check it goes through the BCM and another module or it may be the dash its self i guess you could see if there is power coming to the lights on dash if you cannot scan. you need a pro scanner though to scan a BCM not auto parts. there is green and brown going to heater control for lights. also, red that is connected to tail light relay so check to see if that is good or not that may be the problem.
