Noticed my rear drivers side pads and disc were really worn compared to the other side. So had a mechanic friend check and he had to change my rear brake calipers which had seized along with new discs and pads. Brakes afterwards were spongy and he was not at all happy. He asked if I had any issues before . I said a few weeks ago , perhaps once or twice a week when applying the brakes the pedal went down and then pressed again and was okay.
Put it down as a glitch and car was braking okay for last few weeks. He suggested changing my master cylinder but could only be 80% certain on this. £200 later he changed this and now after bleeding brakes four times! I have no brakes at all! Have to use handbrake to stop and he is lost as to what is the problem. Am pulling my hair out here and getting well stressed. Please help.

we have no information on this car, but sounds like the ABS unit is the problem. it needs to be bled with a scanner to open all the valves so the pedal will be good.
