Vehicle will shut off while driving randomly but will restart. Vehicle shuts off at stoplight with trouble restarting. Vehicle will stop taking gas while driving have to pull over and restart. Radio makes a noise which has no key in ignition like ejecting CD. Sounds like a fan running after Vehicle has set for an hour or so and dash light on and will shut off when you open the door. Also, we have recently put a new battery and alternator in.

Hi,

Wow, that's a lot. The idea that it stalls at stop signs can be a few different things. For example, a failing crankshaft position sensor, a vacuum-related issue, the idle air control valve, and so on.

By chance, have you had the computer scanned to see if there are diagnostic trouble codes stored? If you have, could you let me know the codes that were retrieved? If you haven't, you may want to have a parts store check it for codes. Most do it free of charge.

The idea that it is difficult to restart if it stalls at a stop sign leads me to think it is a fuel-related issue. By chance, have you ever noticed gray or black smoke from the exhaust when it does restart?

Here are two links you may find helpful. They are specific to an engine stalling. Take a look through them and let me know if anything helps.

Let me know what you find.

Take care,

Hi,

Based on the code, I suspect we lost power from the TIPM (totally integrated power module). The code is specific to the loss of ambient temperature communication.

Do me a favor. Take a look at the diagnostics below and let me know if you are comfortable performing them. This is what I get to help determine or identify the cause.

Let me know.

Joe
