2000, Nissan Xterra, 75k miles, v-6
When the car is at idle or running at very low speed, it runs extremely hot. The temperature gage is off the chart. When I run it about 45 mph or faster, the temperature returns to normal in a very short time. The engine has coolant, fan runs and no visible leaks. Is my pump gone? If not; then what? If it is the pump, can I fix it myself? I'm no automotive guru, but I'm pretty handy around the tool box.
thanks for your help!
