Power steering leak

If you know which pipe is leaking, and you have the time & tools, go for it.

The high-pressure hose comes pre-made from either Nissan or from an aftermarket manufacturer which will be cheaper and almost identical.

Knowing that your engine is positioned north-south, there should be enough space to undertake the task.

One side of the hose will be attached to the power steering pump, and the other side will be attached to the power steering rack.

Remove the old pipe, and replace with a new one.

[b:6e5b985d8a]Tip[/b:6e5b985d8a]: Put a plastic oil pan (of some sort) under the car because as you are removing the bottom bolt, oil will start leaking.

don't forget to bleed the system after you replace the hose. fill the reservoir to the full line, then start the engine. turn the wheel all the way from left to right about 3 times, then check the fluid again. add fluid until the reservoir is full again. repeat this process until the level no longer goes down. this pushes all the air out of the lines and up into the reservoir.

discostu24000, is it at all possible when my pump was replaced. the person who fixed my pump told me to do something similiar to what you suggested, I really did not do it as you described, as he did I think. to make a long story short :roll: could this be the reason why if I am not having any other problems but the turn of the steering wheel its hard as heck it takes to hands to turn??? please please reply I would greatly appreciate it have a great day!

yes, most likely your problem is air in the system. but it's never too late to bleed the system. follow the steps i previously mentioned. repeat the process until the the wheel turns easily. hopefully there's no damage to the pump.
