The battery light still stays on and I have installed two alternators. the last one was checked before I left the store and it was good and first replacement was bad. The orginal alternator was also good. The truck starts fine but the battery light stays on. The battery checks out ok and it will take a charge. It will even start the engine each time. I did have a short in the rear lights/trailer area but I fixed it with electrical paste and I have no bare wire(s) I can find. The battery sat for about two months and didnt lose a charge. The computer doesnt apper to have a short and my code reader will retrevie the codes from it. It doesnt give any code relating the alternator since the seconded alternator replacement. Could someone give me a Ideal on what else I could check.

If its reconditioning the battery and the battery is taking it-

Check the belt tension and also the charge indicator gauge wiring and connections-
