1989 Nissan Truck High rpm, delayed shifting

i found that there is a bulletin for this only when cold, you replace the fluid with a special fluid, but this is only when cold. also the other thing i found is the governor(controls shift points and is located in the tailshaft housing.) i would suggest having a transmission repair shop road test for you. i was hoping i was going to find a vacuum controlled modulator valve, but you dont have one. hope this helps

I,m going to try replacing the modulator because i found tranny fluid in the tube.

I Checked the modulator that was located on the drivers side of the transmission, A little bugger to get to. Modulator Okay. I then followed the vacuum line to the intake and realized that the vacuum line was deteriorated and needed to be replaced. What can you expect for such an old girl. Runs sweet. Next time when you guys receive a donation, try researching the problem a little closer.

noone is perfect. for as many questions we answer each day, we all try our best. if you read my post one of the first things i suggested was the modulator valve but the information you gave me showed the transmission to have a governor not a modulator valve. im not claiming i have a crystal ball and can see your truck. i did take the time to look up your vehicle and research your problem. there is only so much we can do. i did give you a honest effort.
