The Nissan Tida (2007) is losing significant amount of power while driving uphill. The vehicle has a CVT Transmission. The vehicle works fine when driving along flat roads. The lost in power only happens when driving up a steep hill. The vehicle was scanned with a Launch 431 Master Scanner and the Autoboss V30 Scanner. The following are the diagnostic trouble code

Launch 431 Master Scanner - P2008 (TBD SCVSEN)
Autoboss V30 Scanner - P2008 Swirl Control Valve B1

What are the symptoms of a defective Swirl Control Valve? If there is an issue with the Swirl Control Valve
can this cause the loss in power while driving uphill? I am looking forward for your comments.

A fault with the swirl control valve can result in the symptoms indicated and also erratic idling. There are no known issue with the control valve. Sometimes the problem can be due to excessive dirt in the system and some carb cleaner might help in solving the problem.

The Nissan Tida Vehicle is idling fine. What is the purpose of the Swirl Control Valve? This valve is probably control by a solenoid. Can you tell me where the Swirl Control Valve is located on the 2007 Nissan Tida?

I am sorry we do not have any information for your vehicle in our database so I do not know the exact location. It is located within the intake manifold and is for controlling air flow through the manifold.
