i have a 2004 nissan sentra with 50K miles on it. last week it was starting hard and running rough. i had made an appt with the dealer. Saturday will driving on the highway it lost power, the hot/cold display went to Hot. i pulled over. the hot/cold display kept going from hot to mid range and then back up.
i got it off the high way and had it towed to the dealer. they called and said they couldnt duplicate the problem. they said the head gasket was leaking and wanted to clean the injectors. asked them if this could cause the problem, they said absolutely.
another symptom was when i had the heat on it blew cold air intermtantly.
every one i spoke to said it sounded like a thermostat or an emissions sensor. the dealer said they checked the codes.
Im affraid im going to pick the car up and it wont be fixed. any suggestions?
