I have a 2000 nissan sentra, mileage 110,000. When trying to check the oil, the dipstick broke off in the chamber. I have tried to put something down into the hole to get a grip on what's left of it, but it was pushed down instead of coming up.

Any idea the best way to remove this? When changing the oil, I thought I might be able to reach it after taking the oil filter off, but that wasn't possible either.

Thanks so much!

Hey terlay
Looks like dipstick tube removal is your only option. They usually bolt thru a bracket to the motor and once this is taken off some gentle twisting w/ some pliers or small vice grips and the tube will come out. To re-install, clean the end and tube, apply some sealant @ the base and gently tap back in place. Let us know!
