Hi,

My problem is when I accelerate I hear a rhythmic clunking/tapping sound somewhere on the front right side underneath the car. The sound would disappear abruptly when I tap on the brake to slow down but comes back again when I release it. Another symptom is when backing-up the car I hear a tapping sound also rythmic and also coming from the same location. Could these be symptoms of a failing inner CV Joint even if there are no noises during hard turns?

Thanks for your time.

I did that last week-its the wheel bearings-be advised you have to press it out or get a used knukle.

Hi Rasmataz!

Thanks for your reply. It turns out the noise was caused by the loose plastic cover in the wheel well touching the tires ( or the otherway around ). But I'll still have the bearings checked just to be sure.
