I have a 2006 Nissan sentra and my car makes some squeaking noise whenever the engine is started. The noise fades away with driving and again comes back every morning. Last year around the same time, the same thing happened and I turned in my car with the Nissan service shop and the mechanic pointed that the belt was glazed and that it is very common with the extreme weather conditions. He replaced the belt and the noise went away. This year, my car was parked in the garage all the time and I wouldn't blame the weather for it. Plus I have never heard of the need to change the serpentine belt every year. What else could be going wrong? I don't simply want to go to the service guys just to hear that my belt is glazed again and pay about 100$ for it.
