My car has started to overheat.I am losing coolant through the resevoir overflow. I have replaced the radiator cap and the thermostant. I have checked the oil and it looks fine, no milky residue. The heater works for the first couple of minutes then blows cold air.

Have it chemical tested for a blown head gasket. If the head gasket is bad, it can displace the coolant with air from the combustion chamber and do as you describe, it doesnt have to have milky oil to be bad
