2002 Nissan Sentra overheating

it began overheating seconds after I drove it, heater went off, changed thermostat, still overheats and heater still don't work. Radiator hoses seem to have water, radiator is full, fan works.

I would have a chemical test done on it. Call around and find a shop that does this explain the overheating within seconds. What it sounds like to me is that there may be a head or headgasket problem and this will check for that. Let me know what you find.
