My engine never stalls and idles well. When I take my foot off the accelerator at any speed there is a "dead spot" on the pedal when I want to resume speed. The engine will immediatel drop to an idle unless I persist and push the pedal past that "dead spot"--then it suddenly cuts in and will accelerate normally. I never get a "service engine" light.
A new fuel pump was installed--no improvement.
I disconnected the two electrical leads to the throttle position sensor which corrected the problem but of course it now idles too fast and would not be running as efficiently as it could.
Could the problem be the TPS even though I am getting no light and a scope does not show any error codes?
